To kick-off the site, we will have a look at a truly amazing band that sadly was forgotten: Apollo Ra, from Baltimore, Maryland. This band never had an official release, and after a 2-track demo and a privately recorded demo/debut album, they disappeared. I doubt that there has been a band that deserved a record deal more though…

 

  

The Release: Ra Pariah.

 

Amazing vocals! Think of a raspy Midnight (Crimson Glory)… This is pure, old school, power metal from the US. The variety in the tracks makes this an interesting listen from start to finish. There is really nothing to hate here. This is the perfect album to kick of this blog with! A true forgotten gem!

 

The album was originally only on private tape pressings, but Unisound has re-released this album with a bonus track in a limited pressing of 500 CDs.
